The Aachen Cathedral, also known as Cathedral of Aix-la-Chapelle is a church located in Aachen, western Germany. Being the oldest cathedral in northern Europe, this church has been built in the 8th century. With all that historic past, this church has been the chair of thirty German kings and twelve queens.
The Olympic Games in Rio is over and now we have to wait another 4 years for the Tokyo games. There was a lot to like about this year, at least for me. First, it was in Brazil, my home country and second everything went well. With these massive events there's a big push in terms of promotion from media companies to create apps to garner fan attention.
In all these 5 years doing interviews here for Abduzeedo, I always felt blessed for having the opportunity to contact and to know more about such great established artists and also some young artists full of talent. And today it's a great day, we had the amazing opportunity to interview one of the living legends of comic books, Richard Corben.
I grew up always trying to make things, from tweaking with my toys to trying to build things by breaking others, that's how I think I got into design. Later I graduated in Industrial Design and since then I have been making digital products. In my spare time I still try to do more analog/manual things, like furniture.
We've seen some great gadgets and equipment for designers. So many cool stuff, that we could actually assemble infinite perfect office spaces! Every week we'll assemble a perfect office, and we'd like you to help us. What equipment would the perfect office have?
I have been a fan of Nina Geometrieva for quite a long time. We featured some of her projects here in the past, mostly illustrations like the "What Space Really Looks Like" or "Expired Shapes". However she has been focusing more on UX/UI projects. The cool thing is that she is still adding her illustration magic on this projects.
There are some industries that really shine when it comes to web. The way they showcase their products and important user flows are super well crafted. I remember seeing the Warby Parker site and their purchase flow and I was blown away. I wished booking a fly was that cool. The cool thing about that was that it pushed the industry.
We all had a long week of work, school and maybe vacation (some of us) and after spending some time relaxing with family, friends; we'll mostly spend be ready to tackle a new week.
Heinz Bloody Mary is a personal project, I believe shared by Constantin Bolimond. The reasons I don't know for sure if it's personal is because the project is simply beautiful done. The quality of the renders gave me the impression it was the real product. In the end I saw that was done in Cinema 4D and VRay.
Who doesn't love Pixel Art? I feel that growing up playing video-games like Atari, NES, Genesis, SNES really influence my taste and trigger this passion for pixelated illustrations. I remember spending many afternoons playing Double Dragon or Streets of Rage with my friends. Those games were simple but boy they were a lot of fun.
We featured Retoka before here on ABDZ but they seem to keep shipping inspiring work. I am a fan of the way they manipulate images and the GEISHA project is simply beautiful. This particular project got me excited to sit down and open Photoshop to try to recreate it. Maybe that might be my weekend activity. Now back to the project.
As boring as it sounds, designing a corporate site is incredibly fun! I had the opportunity, in the past to design a site for a popular brand and through the layer of pages and pages of brand guidelines and how everything is strict in typography, colours and even how you interact with their users.
